Theme song: "I'm the Comic Weekly Man, the jolly Comic Weekly Man and I'm here to read the funnies to you happy boys and honeys." - Comic Weekly Man aired on Sundays from 27.April 1947 to 21.November1954 (296 episodes) and syndicated by Hearst was a show where the Comic Weekly Man would read the Sunday comics in a dramatic fashion, complete with music and sound effects. The first series, aired by Mutual Broadcasting, (no episodes available) featured stories from Puck: The Comic Weekly found in the papers owned by William Randolph Hearst - The second series run on NBC, again syndicated by Hearst, featured Lon Clark (1912-1998) - He enacted all the male character voices, sang songs and jingles tailored to each of the funnies from Flash Gordon to Beetle Bailey to Prince Valiant to Snuffy Smith to Donald Duck. He was accompanied by little "Miss Honey" (also uncredited) as the eager, tiny tot to whom the Comic Weekly Man read the funnies; this actress also provided most of the female voices as well.
