Magic Island, Fantasy-Jugendserie (1935-1938). Perry Crandall - Skriptschreiber, Ansager, Schauspieler (als G-47), Regisseur und ausführender Produzent - schaffte mit Magic Island eine Lehrsendung für Jugendliche und Erwachsene. Crandall baute in die Inselabenteuer von Patricia Gregory (Sally Creighton) und Tochter Joan (Rosa Barcelo) Beispiele aus Mathematik, Physik, Chemie und Navigation ein. Radio Producers Sales Company produzierte ab 1935 in Hollywood und vertrieb die Serie an CBS Pacific. KNX Los Angeles sendete zwischen August und September erstmalig 19 Episoden. KLS Salt Lake City übernahm die Serie und strahlte von 13-09-1936 bis 05-09-1937 insgesamt 52 Folgen aus. Tommy Carr (als Jerry Hall) und Will H. Reynolds (als Captain Bradford) wirkten ebenso als Hauptdarsteller an den 130 Sendungen mit. (sl)
